Brooklyn Babes (T's Spider Plants)

Spider Plant Care

While living in Brooklyn I bought a spider plant that flourished beyond my wildest dreams! The top photo is the "Mama" and the lower photo is a round of babes that I harvest about every 6 months. It does so well that it flowers every so often and produces many babies. I really feel the need to share with anyone willing to care for such an amazing plant.
After they shoot out flower branches, in a couple days they turn into baby spider plants. After sprouting long roots, I plant them in soil. These little babes get as big as their Mama and then they also go crazy with shoots and flowers!

They are so happy with a little bit of care:
Lighting:
Indirect sunlight or Fluorescent(think office/doctor rooms) lighting is perfect. They really DO NOT want to be in a sunny window.
Soil:
Indoor potting mix is great (I like Back to the Roots Brand)
Water:
Watering is done on a "need" basis I like to call it.
If the air is dry and warm, 1 x a week is good
If the air is humid wait until the top soil is on the drier side to water. Waiting a week or two in-between watering's is fine.

Feel free to email me if I have gifted you one of my Brooklyn Babes and I will be happy to answer any questions!
